WHEN the Chief Executive of a £1.3b Housing Foundation, claiming to have “always been well left of centre”, proposes using part of his Cosmopolitan group’s surpluses to send “youngsters from some of the poorest estates in Merseyside and Chester” to top public school Eton, the flat earth society immediately appears less wacky, and estate managers more entertainingly silly (Mersey Estate pupils get Eton Chance, Post, Jan 11).
